This is the worst of his back injuries. It's really more road rash than anything. They just took him downstairs to get a thoracic epidural to help with his chest and rib pain. It's more important that he clear up the junk in his chest than anything else right now, and the pain meds he's on aren't doing much. So hopefully he'll be breathing better soon. Tomorrow is still his jaw surgery, probably mid-afternoon. I spoke with his anesthesiologist, and she is hopeful that he will be breathing well enough on his own that he will not have to remain intubated after surgery. We'll have to see how it goes.
