Barvel Wrap Up

It is no exaggeration to say this weekend at Barvel was a Divine gift. Eleven members of the Frisby Crew gathered at Granny's cabin off Mill Bridge Road in Center Sandwich, New Hampshire.

Below, a by-the-numbers weekend review:

1: Number of times Granny has ever dipped herself into the pothole at Cold River, accomplished this weekend (following dad's example a few years ago, she reports).

1.5: Storage size, in gigabytes, of the photos and videos recorded.

2: Leaps Granny took from the cliff at Cold River.

2.5: Hours Ben, EK, Kristin, and Tom spent stuck in traffic outside of New York City en route NH.

3: Number of moose, loon, and owl sightings (or hearings) combined.

8: Combined days of school missed by Abby and Tom.

10: Liters of wine consumed in an unfortunate over estimation of consumption needs by the writer.

10.5: Hours driven through the night by Kat, Melissa, Abby, and Sara en route Barvel.

11: Members of the Crew who came (9 slept in the loft, 2 in the living room).

13: Hours Erik had between the time his flight was booked and the moment he needed to be on board a plane en route NH.

25: Amount of time, in seconds, Ann Passey was warmed by a Coyote sandwich.

52: Number of hours the entire Crew was together.

330: Amount, in dollars, spent on food for the Crew for 3 days.

361: Days until the next Crew visit to Barvel (Granny invited us back!).

6,164: Number of miles flown by Erik, the furthest flung traveler, to come to Barvel.

28,000: Combined miles traveled by all 11 friends to make it to Barvel

There are, of course, a number of other memories, but perhaps they are best kept in our hearts and paper journals and not broadcast on the Internet.
