A Typical Week

Kak suggested that I write out what a typical day or week looks like for me. So here's the last week.

Last Saturday (9/28): spent the night at Kak and John's with Dad and Joel in Dayton, Ohio

Last Sunday: Drove from Dayton to Columbus at 6:30 am for buildout in Columbus, which lasted til 12:30 am the next day. Overnight in Columbus.

Monday: Got to the Columbus airport at 8:15 am. The Senator and the Governor arrived at 11am. That afternoon I flew to St Louis via Chicago. Got stuck in Chicago for 5 hours. Dad picks me up in StL at 11:30pm. Overnight at mom and dads.

Tuesday: Spent the day in Hillsboro visiting old friends.

Wednesday: Breakfast at the Wieses in St Louis; brunch with Dad; lunch with NateD. Fly to Fort Myers via Atlanta. Overnight in Fort Myers.

Thursday: Walk thrus at a local university arena in Ft Myers.

Friday: More walk thrus.

Saturday: Walk thrus. Paperwork.

Sunday (today): Buildout begins at 8:30 am. (See previous post). Will last all day.

This is what they call "build out".

Today I am in Fort Myers, Florida. There will be a rally with the Governor here on Monday. We have rented a big ice hockey arena (seats 9,000) and today we are doing "build-out," which means we are setting up for the rally tomorrow.

As you can see in the picture, we have brought in a vendor who will hang lights and speakers from the ceiling (all currently arrayed on the floor). The little stage that you can see in the back is actually the main press riser. The press will stand there and shoot towards the end of the arena in the foreground, where a stage will be built.

Tomorrow, the arena will be packed full of people excited about seeing the Governor. I will post photos then too.

Yeah, We Rock. :)

Mom, Anna and I ran a 5k last weekend. It was a lot of fun, and I'm really glad we did it.

Our medals were awarded as follows:

Sarah: 1st place in the 20-29 age group
Mom: 2nd place in the 50-59 age group
Anna: 3rd place in the 15-19 age group





Oh yeah.... Anna beat mom and I by about 15 minutes, (she finished in 24+ min., and was also running against a local public high cross-country team. So she actually earned her medal.) Mom and I finished in 40:30. It really helped that I was the only one running in my age group... lol! No faster way to win a medal!

I will say, in all seriousness, that Dad has done a great job of keeping the house very clean in Mom's absence.
